Quick 30 Minute Chili Recipe

When I want to eat something spicy with a touch of Mexican spices, "chili con carne" commonly known as "chili" is always my first choice.

It is one of the easiest and the most delicious dish I know. Generally, chili is considered a greasy and unhealthy dish but I don't agree. Chili is very healthy if made it the right way. You get carbs, protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and healthy fat from one bowl of chili. You can eat chili with rice, bread, salad or by itself. I like to eat chili salad with tortillas which tastes just as good as the taco salad. I keep my chili very simple & healthy. I only use minced turkey or chicken to keep it low calorie. You can use any meat you like. I also prefer olive oil over butter to keep it healthy.

So let's talk about my recipe. This recipe will serve 4-5 people. It will cost you around 10 dollars for the whole family dinner.

Ingredients:

  1. 3 Cans of Chili Beans

  2. 1 lb Ground Turkey/ Chicken

  3. 1 Medium Onion

  4. 2 Tomatoes

  5. 4 Cloves of Garlic

  6. 1 Chili Powder Mix

  7. 1/4 Red Chili ( optional)

  8. 1/4 Salt

  9. Coriander

  10. 1-2 tbsp. Olive Oil

Time: 30 min

Recipe:
1. Cut onion, garlic, and tomatoes into small pieces.
2. Put olive oil in a deep pot and turn on the heat. Once the oil is hot, add onion & garlic in it. Saute onion & garlic for 5 minutes.
3. Once the onions start to turn brown, add minced meat in it. Add chili & Salt to it if you like spicy food, if not then skip this. Keep stirring & cook the meat well for at least 7-10 minutes.
4. Once the meat is cooked, add chili mix in it. Also, add tomato at this point. keep stirring.
5. After 3-5 minutes, when the tomatoes have melted in, add chili beans.  1 glass of water to the empty cans and stir them well. Now add this water into the pot. This will get all the chili spices stick to the sides of the can.

6. Now let it boil. Once the chili starts to boil, bring the heat down to simmer. Let it simmer for another 7-10 minutes.
7. Now garnish it with coriander. If you like cheese, you can also add cheese now.  Enjoy!
